Online Suppliers as Resources
Many suppliers also have their own web logs (blogs), newsletters or e-magazines (e-zines), and some you can also find on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. I will not play any favorites, so I will not list any suppliers, but if you do a Google search, you should be able to find many that offer free information.
Old Tool Resources
- oldtoolheaven.com - A Millers Falls Home Page. In my humble opinion - THE best guide to Millers Falls tools. I have many times come back to this historical guide to learn more and to get information before I buy a Millers Falls item...
- The Best Things. A great place to buy tools, new or old.
- Brass City Records. Another great place to buy used tools.
Selling on eBay? Please Respect Other People's Work!
A lot of thought, research, work and cost has clearly gone into producing the wealth of information you can find by by following the Old Tools Resources links on this page - whether the sites listed are purely informational or business related. I am very grateful for the work these individuals have done in providing us "tool geeks" (or galoots) with this sometimes hard-to find information.
If you are selling tools - e.g. on eBay - please use your own description and don't copy information from any of the sites you find here. It is disrespectful, rude - and you are in violation of copyright laws! Copyright laws encompasses the work found at these web sites. Meaning that you can be sued for copyright infringement if you use their work (tool description) for describing the tools you are selling. That can be very costly for you as wilful copyright infringement is a federal crime - whether it is for personal gain or not! (copy this text: 17 U.S.C. 506 and Google it!). Remember this next time someone knocks on your door, it might not be the pizza delivery guy, it could be the FBI!
And remember, any information you use at online market places can be found - even many months after the sale was finalized. The only thing missing is a hungry lawyer eager to catch you and sue you!
So please do your own work, and let these great sites continue providing the rest of us with the information we crave!
